Mr Derek Young

Mr. Young has over 25 years experience in strategic planning, information technology planning, and the management of large scale change programs within organizations. Mr. Young has worked in the UK, the USA and a number of countries in Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea.

Prior to his retirement in 2003, Mr. Young was the Managing Director of Accenture Australia Ltd and was also responsible for their Financial Services Industry practice in Asia Pacific. He was a member of Accenture's Global Leadership Council and the Global Financial Services Executive Committee.

Professor Dennis Gibson

Professor Dennis Gibson

Professor Gibson has been RMIT University Chancellor since April 2003. In addition to the ceremonial and governance responsibilities associated with the role he serves on the board of RMIT International University Vietnam Ltd which has established a campus in Ho Chi Minh City with the financial support of a North American philanthropic organization.

Currently, Professor Gibson is the Chair of Materials and Microwave Development Pty Ltd, the Premier of Queensland's Smart Awards selection panel and the RMIT Drug Discovery Technologies Pty Ltd. He is a member of the board of Bond University and a trustee of the Australian Peace Scholarship Program.

For the period 1982–1988 he was the Director of Queensland Institute of Technology and following the move to university status the Foundation Vice-Chancellor of Queensland University of Technology (QUT) from 1989 to 2003.

Professor Gibson is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2002 and was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2003.

Professor Peter Coloe

Professor Coloe was appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor Science, Engineering and Technology in August 2008 having previously held the position of Head, School of Applied Sciences.

Professor Coloe is a long serving senior staff member who has made an impressive contribution to RMIT's management and teaching and learning initiatives whilst achieving his own substantial research milestones and maintaining strong links to industry and Government.

Serving on the RMIT Council since 1999, Professor Coloe has contributed to the University's overall management, strategic and budgetary planning initiatives and been an active member of the Vice-Chancellor's Executive and the University Academic Promotions Committee. Since 2000 he has Chaired RMIT's Academic Board and has championed many of the University's teaching and learning developments.

A prolific researcher, Professor Coloe has more than 160 publications and has been awarded three worldwide patents which have gained him international recognition. He has made an important contribution to the understanding, detection and control of infectious diseases in humans and animals.
