RDDT has set up in vitro and cell-based studies for a range of regulatory and non-regulatory projects not involving animals. However, regulations (and sometimes, good science) require that experiments be conducted using animals. In this case, all such experiments are subject to approval by the RMIT Animal Experimental Ethics Committee, and follow the legal requirements of the State of Victoria, the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NH&MRC) Codes of Conduct and the international Helsinki declaration.
